My PUMA friend, yes I am still friends with him. Just sent me this email:
If McCain picks Lieberman as his running mate... he has my vote. Now is the time for bipartisanship, something Obama preaches about but both McCain and Lieberman have a history of. Lieberman would bring the social liberalism to the ticket that I so desire, while McCain has the experience to lead. I think this is the ticket, and could actually bring some excitement to the republican side...although I would see it more as excitement for the country in general. A true step towards bipartisanship. B/c we may have ideals on the left and ideals on the right, and you may be one of those that consider yourselves on the far left, but the fact is we currently live in a right of center country...and the only way we can shift to the left (which I would like to see on social issues) is to have bipartisanship.
McCain/Lieberman 08'
or
Obama/Hillary 08'
or if the buyers remorse really sets in in time maybe..
This is a comment someone posted on my youtube video of Michelle Obama's visit to the University of Texas:

My friend posted this as a Myspace bulletin today:
Obama's Speech Falls Short
I am reposting an opinion editorial. But before I do, I want to say that I personally do not really agree with Guilt by Association in politics, although of course Obama was more than "associated" with Wright. I also want to say that I did think it was a good speech that made some very good points. Of course it was eloquent and very well delivered, but no one ever has tried to argue that he is not a good orator. It perhaps is his best skill, and one that I do agree is helpful for a presidential candidate.
However, the main reason for the repost is to depict the very real and deep problem Obama is going to have with electability in November. Love him all you want, get all nice, warm, and fuzzy on the inside, but he simply will not win in the general election. To think that he will and to think this speech was more than it was ... is well, naive.
It is important for those who still have the opportunity to change the nomination to realize this while there is still time.
He then when on to further quote a post from the blog Freedom Eden that tore Obama's speech down.
So I decided I had to respond. My response follows after the jump.
This video and this incident hit so close to home for me. I was outed in high school. I was spat upon and beat up and ostracized. I almost dropped out because of it. Then Matthew Shepard was murdered for being gay. That inspired me to go back to school to say FUCK YOU to all of the people who hated me for what I was.
To know that ten years later this same type of hate goes on, breaks my heart.
You can read the story about what happened at this link.
Riding a wave of youth vote, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero wins four more years of governance in Spain. He won a larger percentage of the vote than he did in 2004, thanks largely to Spanish youth.
This is a great day for my adopted country, Spain. I lived there for more than three years while I was studying in college. I was there during his first victory. I also took to the streets with the rest of the Spanish people after the terrorist attacks of the 11th of March. My twenty-two year old boyfriend voted for the first time in his life today for Zapatero.
Today Michelle Obama came to the University of Texas. The Barack Obama campaign opened a campaign office right on the UT campus. This just goes to show how seriously the Obama campaign take the youth vote here in Austin.
I was so surprised by Michelle today. She is so eloquent, poised and charming. I think she is even smarter than Barack. She reluctantly entered into the political sphere. However, now that she is in it, she is in it to win.
I was really close to Michelle when she was giving her speech. I took a video of a part of her speech. In this part she implores all of the supporters there to get out and canvass for Barack. She stresses that we were the best part of his campaign, and that we were the key to his success.
Also take a look at her fabulous pant suit. You get a good look at it towards the end of the video. She really is a beautiful woman and I think she would make a badass First Lady.
Last night, I innocently wrote to one of my friends (who shall remain unnamed) about Hillary's Wisconsin defeat. I then received a response back from them verbally bitch slapping me for being politically active and aware. Apparently, this person NEVER talks politics because it just makes everyone mad. I guess we are all just supposed to stick our fingers in our ears and go "blah, blah, blah" until all the scary politicians go away.
This person also claimed that they could count on one hand the number of friends they had that actually voted. I am really disappointed for that person that they have such boring friends. I mean, I could count on two or three hands the number of people I know who are voting for Obama. I can count on two more hands the number of people I know that are voting for Clinton. I could then count on two fingers the people I know that are voting for John McCain.
Okay, I officially don't get it. I really really don't get it.
Gay men are obsessed with Hillary. Obsessed! I am not joking. I swear to you all. Tonight I went out to the gay clubs in Austin. I saw not one, not two, but SEVERAL young gay men wearing Hillary buttons and other paraphernalia at a FUCKING GAY CLUB!
I love the interpretive dancing, and the little girl who looks like she has no idea how or why she is on the stage. Watch for the Asian guy with the flute!
Such a hip and with it video!
This is the face of the future! Can't you feel it?
Well, I made eighty calls today over the span of about two and a half hours. I was calling voters in California using the phone bank system on Barack Obama's website.I have to say I was a little nervous at first, but after I got the hang of it, it was pretty easy.
I'll give you guys a description of my experience after the jump...
Here is a quick video blog I did about my Republican Mom and her feelings about Barack Obama. Trust me, I wouldn't be posting this if I didn't feel like it was really important to communicate my Mom's positive feelings towards this candidate.
I have peppered the commentary with some of my own feelings about the race based on the things I have heard from my mother, as well as seen in the news.
This is really something you will want to watch and comment on. It is painless as well, it only lasts about two mintues.
This is going to be a very sad week for me. I am an American expat who has been living in Spain for the past three years. I came here initially in 2004 as an exchange student, and was only supposed to be here one year. However, as it often does, life had a different plan for me. I ended up taking a three year hiatus from school, with only a few more classes left to complete.
Why did I make such a drastic change? Simple. One word...love. It is a doozy that love. It is the ultimate plan breaker. It swept me off my feet, and preempted any other priority in my life. Well, now it is time for me to go back home and finish my degree, because my undergraduate degree plan expires next year. I have waited long enough. It is now or never, because the last thing I want to be is a college dropout. Next week, I return to my native Texas to finish my college degree at the University of Texas in Austin.
The only problem is my boyfriend can’t come with me.
Newt today saw that his heartfelt, eloquent, and obviously not read off teleprompter speech wasn’t changing many hearts (corazones) or minds (mentes) in the Latino Community. So he decided to be proactive and send an even stronger message to the hard working Latino immigrants. Newt was going to teach one of his patented intensive bilingual English education courses all by himself.
First off, let me apologize to anyone who finds the title of this diary offensive. I am using the hateful language to make a point here.
Ann Coulter should be run out of the politcal arena on a rail for the hatespeech she used at the CPAC Convention. We have all accepted the fact that she has an accute case of verbal dysentary, and should be tuned out whenever possible. However, she used a word that propagates violence against LGBT individuals.
